  • PARLIAMENTARY PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE ON HIGHER & TERTIARY EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT TOUR OF ZIMDEF FUNDED PROJECTS NATIONWIDE

    As a follow up to the presentation that was done by the ZIMDEF Chief Executive Officer, Mr Fredrick Mandizvidza on the 30th of January 2017 to the Portfolio Committee on Higher & Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development on the operations of ZIMDEF, together with ZIMDEF Management Team embarked on a tour to most of the state-owned Institutions of Higher Learning to view projects that were funded by ZIMDEF. The tour was from the 21st – 25th of February 2017 in all the ten provinces in the country. Funding of Institutions of Higher Learning is in line with ZIMDEF’s mandate of financing the development of human capital for the nation. The institutions that were visited included ZIMDEF House Harare, Harare Institute of Technology, Chinhoyi University of Technology, National University of Science and Technology, Hotel St Patricks, Lupane State University, Gwanda State University, Bindura University of Science Education, Marondera University, Manicaland University, Great Zimbabwe University, Masvingo Polytechnic, Kushinga Phikelela Polytechnic, Harare Polytechnic, Kwekwe Polytechnic, Bulawayo Polytechnic, Gwanda Polytechnic, Mutare Polytechnic, Nyadire Teachers College and Msasa Training Centre.

    At all Institutions of Higher Learning that were visited they toured infrastructure developments, re-tooling at Institutions, re-furbished buildings, purchased furniture and equipment and animal husbandry projects that were funded by ZIMDEF over a long period.
